Hip-hop Bar Roxanne to Open | Eat & Drink

Shoreditch is getting its very own hip-hop speakeasy with Roxanne set to open later this month. Taking its name from the iconic Roxanne Wars – a musical battle between two famed artists of the same name – the new bar will celebrate hip-hop through a female lens with a soundtrack of the genre’s leading ladies (Salt’ N’ Pepa, MC Lyte and Lil Kim, to name a few).

They’ll be serving up a menu of classic cocktails with a twist. Highlights include the Cosmic High Ball (gin, homemade lime & hibiscus cordial, bergamot and dragon fruit powder) and the House Martini (vodka, Manzanilla sherry, garnished with either grapefruit zest or Manzanilla olives) which comes in a coupe or sharing bottle. And so you have something to snack on, there’ll be some NYC street food faves, including pretzels and chips with dips, house-roasted nuts and a take on NYC’s famous cart dogs on offer. Get ready for a trip to 1980s NYC right here in E1.
