Easter isn’t only about chocolate—there’s hot cross buns too—but mostly it’s about chocolate. And, if you’ve got a particularly sweet tooth for chocolate Easter eggs, then we’ve got the opportunity for you! Aldi has launched a competition to find its official Easter egg taster for 2025.
Only one lucky applicant will become Aldi’s Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer and receive free chocolate in exchange for reviews on the supermarket’s Easter eggs. You’ll have to provide feedback on each product, sharing your thoughts on taste, texture and appearance. This will help inform the Aldi Buying Team’s decision-making for next year’s range.
Last year’s hiree was five-year-old Levi from Cheshirewho landed the coveted role by charming the judges with a video entry featuring a song dedicated to his love of chocolate. Holding his favourite Aldi bar, he sang: “Do you have a sweet tooth? I do! I’ve had it since I was a boy!”
Okay, so I see why I didn’t get it… But the role is open to applicants of all ages nationwide. The only criteria is a love for chocolate and an enthusiasm for Easter. Plus, for every entry Aldi receives, the supermarket will donate an Easter egg to Neighbourlywhich helps local businesses donate time, funds and surplus to good causes.
How do I apply to be Aldi’s Easter egg taster?
You only have until Thursday, April 3, to applybut luckily, the application is pretty simple. You must record a short audition video (approximately one minute long) that explains why you should be hired. Include examples of your favourite Aldi chocolate, as well as any sweet tips/tricks/ideas/songs that may help you stand out.
You should then email the entry with the subject heading ‘Chief Easter Egg Officer’ to ChiefEasterEggOfficer@aldi.co.uk. The lucky applicant will receive their Easter eggs to sample between April 7-14. Further details on entry can be found on the Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officer page here.
