You know when you need a new, good pillow – your head hits the mangled sack and a sigh is immediately ejected. You dream of the candyfloss cloud drifting you away but in reality it’s a slab of concrete. That’s when you start shopping for some hotel quality pillows.
While many make the claim, many also come with a hotel-style price – except for Adam Pillows, who sell them for £8.95 for one, £14.99 for two, £24.99 for four, and £34.99 for six.
The number one best seller in pillows on Amazon, they have a strong 4.3 out of 24,658 ratings on the site. Tempted by the hype, reviewer at our sister-site Birmingham Live, Megan Archer-Fox, took them for a spin after feeling similarly dejected with her own pillows. The result? Adam Pillows review
I’ve had this sad flat pillow on my side of the bed for ages. I used to tell people I liked having a flatter pillow, until I slept at a friend’s house just recently and realised I had been well and truly kidding myself.
I sank my tired head into this huge, soft, fluffy pillow on my friend’s spare bed and realised what I’d been missing all these years. And immediately started pillow-research to replace my paper-thin pillow.
That’s when I came across these Adam Home pillows. They’re on offer on Amazon at the moment, £8 each or £16 for a pack of two or £25 for a pack of four. The description reads that they’re hotel quality, quilted and soft. Perfect.
I scanned the reviews and saw one guy say ‘these are about as close as you can get to resting your weary head on a cloud’. Well, I was sold. And with 23,000 global reviews and an average star rating of 4.3 out of 5, I thought I couldn’t go wrong. So I placed my order. They turned up the next day (although the Amazon delivery driver put the package in the recycling bin – which I found infuriating). The package was very thin and I was nervous, but soon realised it was just vacuum sealed.
I ripped open the packaging and out flopped two pillows which instantly doubled in size. It reminded me of those time lapse videos of bread baking in the oven. The pillow felt great, just as described, and WAY fatter than my sad pillow. I resisted the urge to lie down there and then, and instead popped a pillow case on mine and waited until bedtime.
Bedtime came, I lay my weary head down, and, I don’t really know what to say but… oh my goodness. Now, disclaimer, I have two little boys. One sleeps through the night (woop!) but the other is a baby and wakes once or twice so my sleep is a little bit all over the place as it is. But I honestly had one of the best nights sleep in a very long time with this pillow.
It was SO soft. The softest and most comfortable pillow I had felt in a long time. (And just in case you’re wondering, I did buy these with my own money – no freebies here!) I fell asleep really quickly, no tossing and turning to get comfortable. Then I stayed asleep, only rousing when I heard the little one cry. I felt rested in the morning for once, which was a lovely change.
Also, my three-year-old son tried it out just before he went to sleep. He lay in our bed watching a bit of telly and I asked him if he wanted a different pillow as that new one looked a bit high for him. He told me: “No, this one is warm. The others are cold”. Alright then, another plus for the new pillow!
