an indulgent buffet of italian food ranging from salads to filled flatbreads, aubergine parmigiana, beef, and more

Over in Soho, at the Italian steakhouse Macellaio RCa new Sunday tradition is being rolled out to Londoners. And it might just have you second-guessing your usual Sunday Roast. Their new Sunday Italian Feast is coming to the rescue, to save us from disappointing roasts.

Picture the scene: it’s a Sunday, 2pm, and you’re trying out a new pub. You order the roast (naturally, it’s Sunday!), and sit at your table sipping your drink and dreaming of the oncoming feast of food. But what arrives is underwhelming. A smattering of veggies, roast potatoes without any crunch, a thimble of gravy, and a paltry slice of your chosen meat.

What’s a meat-lover to do? The solution for London’s carnivores is none other than the ‘temple of meat’, Macellaio RC.

Sunday Italian Feast-ing

Inspired by the Italian tradition of family feasting on Sundays, the new Sunday dining option celebrates “abundance, flavour and conviviality”. Guests can treat themselves to a buffet full of Italian-ified takes on classic Sunday Roast dishes. The chefs at Macellaio RC have turned their eyes to almost every aspect of the traditional meal and come up with their own take.

The core of it all is the meat. And there is PLENTY of it. You’ll need another plate entirely for the carpaccio, beef tonnato, and slow-roasted beef.

But don’t miss the sides. They’ve spruced up the classic roast veggies with Mediterranean flavours. You’ll find honey-glazed carrots and tender broccoli alongside roast potatoes and sausage (it turns out our roasties have always been missing sausage…), aubergine parmigiana, and much more. And who needs yorkies when you’ve got mountainous slabs of focaccia and pizza? Every time you return to the buffet, you’ll find another dish to try.

While you’re dining, live music from 12-3pm adds to the buzz of the room. Add in the free-flowing (and very generous) proseccoand you’ve got yourself a Sunday meal to remember.

Pile your plate high, but remember – you can (and will) return for more! It’s a proper Sunday Italian Feast.

📍 Macellaio RC Soho, Shaftesbury Ave, W1D 6LA. The nearest station is Piccadilly Circus.
