Fuel, in association with Southbank Centre, has announced that its celebrated production of There’s a Bear on My Chair will return to the Queen Elizabeth Hall this Christmas.

Adapted for the stage and directed by Toby Olié, the production opens on 9 December 2026 and runs until 3 January 2027.

Based on Ross Collins’ much loved picture books There’s a Bear on My Chair and There’s a Mouse in My Housethe show follows Poor Mouse, whose favourite chair has been taken over by an enormous Bear.

Mouse attempts every possible tactic to move the unbudging Bear, but when the tables are turned, Bear soon finds himself dealing with a very persistent and cheeky guest of his own.

Audiences are invited into a mischievous world packed with laughter and surprises, combining wit and visual dynamism designed to delight audiences of all ages.

The visually enchanting adaptation brings the characters to life through captivating puppetry, with Toby Olié previously known for work on The BFG, Spirited Away and War Horse.

Returning to the Southbank Centre for the festive season, There’s a Bear on My Chair is billed as perfect Christmas fun for families, offering a heartwarming and hilarious theatrical experience for children aged two to seven and their grown ups.
