    Here’s London’s newest bars, restaurants and pubs we think you should try this May…

    1 Le Pont de la Tour Bistrot, Shade Thames

    Thames-side fine dining restaurant Le Pont de la Tour has opened a bistro, 30 years since the original opened its doors. Le Pont de la Tour Bistrot offers regional French fare at accessible prices, and will all the tradition and finesse of its namesake restaurant. Tony Fleming (ex-Angler) has crafted a menu boasting the likes of confit duck, mussel and saffron soup and pig’s head terrine, which guests and enjoy inside the compact brasserie-style dinning room or on the terrace. There are also plans for live jazz evenings.

    2 Revolve, Broadgate

    Bringing modern brasserie dining to the City, Revolve is a all-day dining venue inspired by the Paris and New York institutions. There’s a chic al fresco Parisian terrace overlooking Broadgate Circle which will be extended in the warmer months too, making it a great spot for an after work drink. Head Chef Arran Smith (ex-Scott’s of Mayfair and the Michelin-starred Swan has created a European menu of French brasserie classics with a modern twist, including a three-course set lunch menu. Dishes include beef tartare with marmite egg and Worcester sauce; Dorset escargots with roaster bone marrow, garlic parsley butter and toasted sourdough; lakeland rose Cote de Veau, caper and parsley beurre noisette as well as daily specials.

    3 Cellar, Hammersmith

    Award-winning chef and master of smokey grills Andrew Clarke has opened up an all-day restaurant on the ground floor of private members’ club Kindred in the beautfiul Grade II listed Bradmore House. Open to the public, Cellar has a menu that boasts seasonal dishes made with premium local produce. Dishes include fried cod cheeks with harissa mayo and lemon; home-cured sea trout with radish, kohlrabi and dill; and Korean spiced Dexter beef tartare served with straw chips. There’s also plenty of good things for plat-based eaters to try, the celeriac schnitzel with cavolo nero, wild mushrooms and wild garlic butter for example.

    4 Baoziinn, Canary Wharf

    Cantonese dumpling kitchen Baozilnn has opened up a new venue in Canary Wharf’s Cargo. The menu offers quick bites – ideal for a lunch hour meal, as well as dim sum platters with all the usual, juicy parcels of chicken, prawn, pork and veggie goodness. Rice and noodle dishes are also on offer such as sour aubergine with rice, or the Chefs special braised beef brisket, as are cocktails, beer and wine.

    5 Apricity, Mayfair

    Chantelle Nicholson, the NZ chef behind the Hackney pop up All’s Well, has opened up a restaurant championing veg-forward and greener eating. On street level, the natural-light flooded restaurant overlooks Duke Street happenings, while basement level there’s a chef’s table set up overlooking all the kitchen drama.  The menu is hyper-seasonal and features locally foraged ingredients. Dishes include yellow oyster and black pearl mushrooms, ‘XO’ sauce, flanders wheat and wild garlic emulsion; Shio koji cured pollock, Shetland mussels, sambal butter and purple sprouting broccoli; and Miso cured spring cabbage, smoked hemp cream and black garlic ketchup.

    6 Nightjar Carnaby, West End

    Shoreditch speakeasy has opened a second venue in Kingly Court, filled with signature cocktails, old-school glamour and live music, and remains true to the low-lit mood and stylings of the Old Street original. Decor evokes the roaring twenties with art deco interiors, dark corners and intimate booth seating, good for a romantic night out, and the drinks are creative, inventive and something a little bit different to your regular espresso martini. Cocktails, such as the Aztec Tapache, Toronto and the Barrel Aged Zombie are grouped as either Pre-Prohibition, Prohibition and Post-War, and there are sharing cocktails to try out too.

    7 The Princess Royal, Notting Hill

    A new pub for Notting Hill, The Princess Royal comes with a large dining room and bar, a walled garden, private dining rooms and four bedrooms should you want to stay over. The menu features elegant riffs on Mediterranean cooking, with dishes such as red prawn crudo, rosemary and orange; English Burrata, blood orange, radicchio, coriander seeds and fennel; and Old Spot pork chop with salt roasted beets, new season carrots, walnut picada. There’s a dedicated raw menu as well, offering the likes of oysters, wild bream crudo and aged beef tarte.
