F1 driver George Russell has delighted fans with a surprise visit to a Puma store as he joined Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton to unveil the special motorsport collection.
With Formula One returning to the home of British racing at Silverstone this weekend, George showed up at the Puma shop at London Carnaby Street to celebrate the latest drop of PUMA x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team x RÆBURN and joined hands with Lewis to create one-of-a-kind T-shirts using materials from their race suits.
Designer Christopher Raeburn upcycled the race-worn Nomex suits from the Mercedes Formula One Team and deadstock material from Puma’s racewear factory to create 22 street-ready pieces with cutting-edge fashion design. With prices starting from £50, fans can buy a cross-body bag with Petronas green stripes, which were taken from the suits, for £65 or a graphic t-shirts with race nunmbers as seen on both George and Lewis.

In an exlcusive interview with , George put on the hero masterpiece jacket made using fabric from his 2022 racesuit as he shared his top picks from this capsule collection: “Well I love all of it, to be honest, but this is my race suit and the first time I saw it I just couldn’t believe it. He sort of put this together with all sorts of garments and seeing the bags there, the hats, even the Puma cat/teddy bear. I could see my race suit on that so it’s really cool.”
Sadly George’s jacket won’t be available to purchase but you can get a collared jacket in similar design as George’s and it features two zip pockets and two bellow pockets, with a name badge label similar to a race suit. It’s available in two colours – black and ice blue – and retailed for £290 each.

To style with a black jacket like this , George added: “I will probably go for something a little bit darker on the bottom, to be honest. There’s a photo in the corner of the shop where I was wearing my fireproof top underneath it, that’s been turned into a T-shirt. Yeah with the jacket over top and maybe some baggy trousers and some boots.”
The hero masterpiece jacket remade from an original race-worn Nomex driver suit from Lewis Hamilton at the Spanish Grand Prix in August 2020, will be auctioned off online with all proceeds going to charitable causes. This is a unique item made only for this occasion.
