Five-star Mayfair hotel, DUKES London, is closing its doors for “extensive refurbishment” as part of an ongoing refurbishment project.
During the ongoing renovation, DUKES Bar will remain open and continue to operate as normal.
Interior designer Russell Sage is overseeing the renovation, and as part of the redesign, DUKES London is working with a historian to research the hotel’s heritage and the history of the surrounding St James’s area. The insights gained will be integrated into the hotel’s new identity.
Michael Purtill, CEO of DUKES London, said: “This is an important opportunity for the hotel and we are excited to start a new chapter.
“For decades, our loyal guests have cherished the warmth, charm and closeness that define the DUKES experience. This renovation allows us to preserve those beloved elements while creating a space that feels stylish, inviting and unforgettable. It’s our way of ensuring that DUKES London remains an icon of British hospitality.”
The overhaul is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The hotel has 90 rooms and suites, the Great British Restaurant, DUKES Bar, a hall for afternoon tea, several meeting and event spaces and a gym.
