Dua Lipa has unveiled the official trailer for a new series exploring the Camden music scene. Heading to Disney+ later this month, Camden is billed as an “evocative” documentary that will reveal the extraordinary untold stories of how the lives and careers of many of today’s biggest artists were shaped by London‘s ‘beating heart of music’.

Alongside Dua – who also serves as executive producer – the four-part series will feature Noel Gallagher, Chris Martin, Mark Ronson, Little Simz, Nile Rodgers, Pete Doherty and Carl Barat of The Libertines. Camden will be available to stream on May 29 exclusively on Disney+, which is available to join from £4.99 a month.

Disney+ members can get the equivalent of two months free by paying for a year upfront, bagging 12 months for the price of 10 on the Standard or Premium plans. A 12-month subscription to the premium plan now costs £109.90 – saving £21.98 compared to paying monthly – and includes higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, plus the ability to stream on four devices simultaneously.

Camden is constructed using archive footage, observational filming and interviews, through which viewers will explore the area’s rich history, hearing from world-renowned musicians as they relive their Camden experiences. Those featured will recall their Camden tales from very first gigs to sell-out concerts, the highs plus lows of nights out and a youth spent discovering music.

Also confirmed as appearing in the series are Boy George, Suggs, Questlove, Black Eyed Peas, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Sister Bliss from Faithless. Revealing the trailer on Instagram, Dua said: “This is a big full circle moment for me and I’m so proud to be an executive producer on a new original documentary series that celebrates the very place I started everything!

“Camden will always have a special place in my heart and I’m humbled to share that with some of my absolute musical heroes.”

Camden is produced by Lightbox, the production company founded by Oscar-winning producer Simon Chinn and Emmy-winning producer Jonathan Chinn in association with Day One Pictures, the production company co-founded by Amy Winehouse’s original manager Nick Shymansky and Radical22. Disney+ is also home to a raft of new music films and documentaries, including Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), Thank You Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, The Beatles: Let It Be and The Beach Boys.

Alternatively, a host of new shows are streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video, including post-apocalyptic action-adventure Fallout and the upcoming third season of Clarkson’s Farm. Both series can be streamed absolutely free with an Amazon Prime 30-day free trial.
