Netflix 2024 Alexander the great the series features a killer episode that re-enacts the life of one of history’s most notorious military leaders.
The long-running documentary is the latest historical epic of this format for Netflix, telling the story through both “face-to-camera” interviews and dramatizations of stories told by experts.
Officially named Alexander: The Creation of Godthe series hit Netflix worldwide on Wednesday, January 31.

Buck Braithwaite – Alexander the Great
Buck Braithwaite brings to life the namesake of the series – Alexander the Great. Here, the famous Macedonian prince gets a closer look than ever before, exploring the inner workings of his personal life as he ascends to the throne and unites his country to earn one of the greatest military commanders of all time.

Mido Hamada – Darius
God’s creationMido Hamada plays King Dario. Darius proves to be one of Alexander’s greatest enemies as he leads the Persian army, the primary opposition to the Macedonians. When Alexander rises, Darius falls, and the former king loses his grip on the land he once ruled.
Hamada is best known for his work American Sniper, The Emerald Cityand Unknown.
Agni Scott – Stateira
The story of Alexander the Great is not complete without the famous Stateira (photographer Agni Scott). Darius III’s daughter eventually goes on to court the new king and becomes his wife after invading Persia.
Scott’s previous scores include Bridget Jones’s Baby, MI-5and Persuasion.
Dino Kelly – Ptolemy
Ptolemy (played by Dino Kelly) is loyal to Alexander almost flawlessly. Ptolemy is one of Alexander’s most trusted military generals, and – as hinted in the series – may have been the new king’s lover at some point during his reign.

Nada El Belkasmi – Barsine
Nada El Belkasmi meets the Persian-Greek Barsine, who meets Alexander the Great during his reign. Although never confirmed, it has been speculated that Barsine was one of Alexander’s mistresses during his marriage to Stateira.
El Belkasmi’s is familiar to fans Young Cleopatra, Redeemedand Ancient empires.
Alain Ali Washnevsky – Mazaeus
Mazaeus (also known as Mazday) is a Persian nobleman who accepts Alexander as his new king. Mazaeus, played by Alain Ali Washnevsky, is one of the first big names in Persia to assert Macedonia’s right to the Persian throne.
Washnevsky’s previous authors include Lucifer, Connersand Tehran.
Will Stevens – Hephaestion
Will Stevens embodies the series version of Hephaestion. Hephaestion is a close compatriot of Alexander the Great and one of the military leader’s male romantic partners throughout his reign. When Alexander conquers the continent, Hephaestion is the central voice of his conquest.
Stevens’ only significant acting credit is for the BBC A silent witness.
Steven Hartley – General Memnon
Steven Hartley’s General Memnon (aka Memnon of Rhodes) is one of King Darius’s greatest and brightest generals who turns and joins Alexander in his quest to rule Persia. Although known as a “simple mercenary”, Memnon was one of Alexander’s staunchest defenders of Persia throughout his reign.

Waleed Elgadi – Bessus
Waleed Elgadi resurrects Bessus, the short-lived Macedonian king who killed Darius III to take the throne. Bessus’ reign does not last long, as Alexander the Great holds the usurper in court and kills him shortly after conquering all of Macedonia.
Elgad’s other works include e.g 355, Four lionsand A hologram for the king.
Kosha Engler – Olympias
Kosha Engler plays Alexander the Great’s mother from Olympia. Olympias was born the eldest daughter of King Neoptolemos I of Epirus and was married to Philip II of Macedonia. He was a key figure in Alexander’s life. The former Macedonian queen, who claimed to be a descendant of Helen of Troy herself, was also particularly involved in the worship of the serpent of Dionysus.
Engler is best known for her role as Mrs. As Mitchell in 2022 Batman, and PBSs Victoria series.
Christopher Sciueref – King Philip
King Philip is played by Christopher Sciueref as Alexander the Great’s father. King Philip (or Philip II) was known as one of the members of the ancient Argead dynasty and ruled Macedonia from 359 BC until the assassination of Bessus in 336 BC.

James Oliver Wheatley – Attalus
James Oliver Wheatley plays Attalus, the military commander of Philip II’s Macedonian army. Attalus was also the uncle of King Philip’s seventh wife, Cleopatra Eurydice.
Wheatley’s previous credits include Burning the ground, 5 pounds of pressureand The Lost Pirate Empire.
Jadran Malkovich – General Pamenion
General Pamenion (played by Jadran Malkovich) was a high-ranking general of both Philip II and Alexander the Great as part of the Macedonian army. During Philip’s reign, Pamenion served as his first lieutenant and was given the rank of strategos under Alexander.
Malkovich has also showcased his talent on Apple TV+ Ted Lasso, Alex Riderand Gold.
Mohamed Attougui – Pausanias
Mohamed Attouguin Pausanias was King Philip’s main bodyguard, who was responsible for the king’s assassination and ultimately launched the rise of Alexander the Great.
Attougui is best known for his stunt work on television in the film he appears as a part of Black Widow, Specterand American Sniper.
Souad Faress – Oracle
Souad Faress brings to life the Oracle of Siwa, an Egyptian seer encountered by Alexander the Great during his conquest of Egypt.
Faress’s other credits include e.g Dune, Christopher Robinand Game of Thrones.
