An image of Cillian Murphy in The Immortal Man, the Peaky Blinders movie

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! A seventh series of ‘Peaky Blinders’ is, according to The S*n at least, due to start filming this summer. The BBC want new episodes of the Birmingham-set crime drama ready to air for 2026 and capitalise on the release of the Netflix movie, ‘The Immortal Man’.

Expected to stream either later this year or early next (although no official release date has been given yet), many believed that ‘The Immortal Man’ would be the end of Tommy Shelby and the ‘Peaky Blinders’. Starring Cillian Murphy alongside the likes of Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, and Barry Keoghan, it’s set during WW2.

But, according to a “TV insider”, fans can expect a bit of a time jump for season seven. The new series will be set in the 50s and bring Birmingham’s notorious gang face-to-face with the violent mobs of Teddy Boys and East London’s Kray twins. The new series is thought to start filming in September and will air on BBC One in the UK.

“The sixth series of Peaky Blinders was supposed to be the last and the movie was meant to be the final farewell for the story. But show boss Steven Knight couldn’t resist coming back to the story — his most famous creation — and he’s been dropping hints he wanted to return to do more. But the fact that it’s been officially green-lit by the Beeb and wheels are in motion on pre-production will be a huge thrill to fans of the show, which was a huge hit for the BBC.”

Obviously, nothing is officially official, but The S*n suggests Cillian Murphy may return in a “father figure” to younger gang members. But we don’t even know who will survive the events of ‘The Immortal Man’ yet… We also don’t know if this new series is related to the two spin-offs planned—one set in Boston, USA, and another following a younger version of Polly Gray. But whatever happens, we know we haven’t seen the last of the ‘Peaky Blinders’.
