Back in 2006, graffiti artist Josh Franklin (also known as Stash) teamed up with Nike for the Stash x Nike Air Max 95 ‘Black.’ It was an instant hit. Because, like most hot things sneaker-related, it sold out within seconds of releasing. If you (like pretty much everyone else) took an L on these back in the day, you’re in luck, because after a very long and very hard 18 years, they’re finally getting a re-release.
Originally launched as part of the ‘Artist Series,’ Stash’s first take on the AM95 works on top of a mesh base and is overlaid by panels and panels of suede throughout. While the trainer comes in black, it’s contrasted by layers of ‘Harbor Blue’ and ‘Varsity Royal’ across the top half of the upper, nodding to the Brooklyn-based creative’s signature colour palette.
A Swoosh is stitched around the lateral heels, while “Air Max” logos make their way to the tongues. Down below, the sneaker sits on top of an absurdly chunky Air midsole, and this has been covered with subtle specks throughout as a tribute to his graffiti roots. All of this is packed in a special shoebox that’s been specifically designed for this restock, and it comes with a huge selection of different laces so you can mix and match them in whatever way you’d like.
