The well-known Mexican restaurant Cavita is happy to present “Cavita Bar” – a brand new bar, chef patron Adriana’s labor of love, built around her favorite things; Margaritas, Mezcal and Mexican street food. This new addition to the much-loved restaurant will be a conversion from the previous basement area and will provide a relaxed and cozy space for drinks in the Marylebone area, opening to the public on Friday 16th.th February.
Removes menu back to basics, Cavite Bar serves exceptional Margaritas, building a house for the success of Margarita Upstairs; Watermelon Margarita. Other drinks are classic mezcalitea Old fashioned corn made from Abasolo Mexican Corn Whiskey, agave and angostura whiskey bitters and traditional fermented and spiced pineapple liquor, Tepache.
Along with cocktails Cavite Bar serves a huge selection of Mexican spirits, from traditional and rare mezcals to lesser-known products such as Sotol – a mezcal-adjacent spirit made from the Sotol plant with a similar flavor profile, and Koch, a mezcal from the San Baltazar region of Oaxaca. The mezcal offering is geared toward tasting, with a house flight of Adriana’s all-time favorite mezcals.
Based on the bar’s cozy and inviting atmosphere, all food is served in a “street food” style and is meant to be eaten with your hands. Adriana has designed the menu to highlight the absolute best dishes from the street stalls where she grew up, perfect for pairing with mezcal cocktails. Highlights of the menu include e.g Chutoro Toastwith soft tuna belly and avocado on a fresh tostada and Quesabillaconsisting of slow-cooked beef shank and crispy fried cheese in a taco with beef consommé for dipping.
With 13 years of culinary expertise, including stints at prestigious gastronomic establishments such as El Bulli and Pujol, Adriana’s culinary philosophy is based on respecting tradition and embracing creativity. Chef Adriana brings her extensive experience and passion to Mexican cuisine Cavite Bar.
Opening on Friday the 16thth In February, the bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 18:00 to 12:30, and there is room for 44 people sitting and 60-70 people standing. Cavite Bar is an energetic space with live music and a rustic Mexican-inspired design reminiscent of traditional cantinas, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
