
London’s Outernet will soon play host to yet another poignant and powerful display as Antarctica: The Melting Silence arrives on its giant floor-to-ceiling screens next week. The groundbreaking film will mark one of the most ambitious immersive environmental projects in historyand will shine a light on the importance of protecting Antarctica – one of the last great wildernesses on our planet.
Directed by Alex Wolfthe immersive experience will blend cutting-edge technology with environmental activism, and will transport Londoners straight to the heart of Antarctica – which is currently under threat. The creation of the film has been supported by many leading environmental organisations, and the launch at Outernet will kick-start a year-long campaign.
The innovative display will show in groundbreaking 25k resolutiontransforming Outernet’s one-of-a-kind wraparound screens into the Antarctic wilderness. The experience will offer visitors an up-close-and-personal look into the fragile beauty of the frozen continent, and highlighting the urgent threats its facing from the likes of climate change, industrial fishing and pollution.
