Finding a practical and spacious cabin bag that meets the strict requirements of airlines like Ryanair can be a challenge, but one low-cost backpack is receiving rave reviews on Amazon.

The stylish Ryanair Laptop Cabin Backpack is now just £22.36 as part of an Amazon limited-time deal, and it has been designed to meet the exact size requirements of Ryanair’s free luggage allowance. Available in a choice of colours, the 40 x 20 x 25cm backpack looks every bit as stylish as the more expensive Chelsea Backpack from Antler, but savvy travellers can snap up the Amazon version for a whopping £120 less.

Small enough to be taken on as a ‘personal item’ the compact backpack is also suitable for use with easyJet, Wizz Air, Jet2, TUI and other UK airlines. Passengers who snap one up can rest assured that the carefully curated dimensions mean they won’t be hit with a hefty hand luggage fee at check-out.

Made from waterproof fabric, the backpack has reinforced stress points to ensure that it can withstand the rigours of travel and the clever 180-degree opening makes it easy to pack and unpack along the way. The spacious main compartment is plenty big enough to hold a change of clothing or two and the multiple zippered pockets help to keep small stuff safe on the go.

For travellers who want to keep their tech close by their side, the low-cost travel backpack also features a separate padded laptop compartment that fits devices measuring up to 14 inches. With breathable wide shoulder straps, a chest buckle and a luggage trolley sleeve to slip over a suitcase handle, it’s also comfortable to carry even when full.

Ryanair has very strict rules on free hand luggage

The backpack has received over 300 positive reviews on Amazon, with one happy traveller saying “This bag is so stylish and well made. Plenty of room and pockets to organise your packaging. Practical straps that allows you to carry this backpack without putting any strain on your shoulders.”

A second shopper described it as the “perfect travel bag” saying “I bought this after it was recommended to me by a friend. It’s perfect for travelling! It’s comfortable when it’s on your back and has so many pockets for things. The pocket at the back is so good for my iPad and I didn’t even feel like it was hard against my back because of the padding. Also fits in so much more than you would think.”

A third described it as their “favourite travel bag ever” and were impressed by the space on offer and the fact that it really does fit under the seat in front of them on the plane.

The Chelsea Backpack from Antler

An affordable alternative to some of this summer’s most sought-after cabin cases and carry-ons, the £22 backpack from Amazon offers many of the same features as more expensive models.

The Antler Chelsea Backpack from Antler, for example, has received high praise from discerning travellers but comes with a far higher price tag. Shoppers may love its hidden features and spacious interior, but for travellers on a budget the Amazon backpack is a highly capable alternative.
