On Kingston Hill, right next to Richmond Park and Norbiton Station, the much-loved local is back with a fresh new look and a menu that will make you remember what real pub grub is all about.
Head chef Amit Nigam uses the finest seasonal British produce to create a range of simple dishes that are flawlessly delivered. Emphasizing classic pub signatures, the all-day menu showcases how just a few quality ingredients turn into a flavor-packed plate with highlights such as crowd-pleasing. homemade milk bread; skate wing with butter and hazelnut; roast Shropshire chicken with supreme pepper sauce and chips, ox cheek poutine; black beans and celery beans with chestnut dumplings; and a brown sugar custard.
The star of the show is the Sunday Roast, filled with the finest cuts of meat and plenty of crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and giant Yorkshires. Choose western beef roast; roast Shropshire chicken highest; Dingley Dell pork belly; or giro mushroom and heirloom squash pithivierwhile for the ultimate roast, there’s the Sunday Sharer stag’s stalk with all decorations, best divided among groups of 4-6 people.
A celebration of the great British pub, the interior artfully emphasizes traditional features. Almost tavern-like, dark wood with golden accents, restored arched windows and high ornate ceilings combined with soft lighting and cozy corners create a warm and inviting locale. Pub patrons can also enjoy private and semi-private spaces that can accommodate groups of up to 20 inside and a 60-person secret courtyard for parties of all sizes.
Step outside and get some fresh air on the new 150-roof terrace, a stylish wooden addition that wraps beautifully around the front and side of the pub, blending seamlessly into the heated and covered courtyard at the back. At the heart of the community, the pub team, led by charismatic General Manager Kerran Macklin, also present a range of fun for all to enjoy.
