Arkansas inmate Randy Randall appears on Netflix Unlocked: Prison Trial.
What is Unlocked’s Randy Randall in jail for?
Randy Randall, who goes by the nickname True Story, is one of the oldest subjects Unlocked: Prison Trial.
The 47-year-old has found himself taking on a leadership role in the prison group and has often acted as a wise peacemaker because he is not opposed to confrontations.
Assigned to cleaning, Randall works to keep things tidy at the detention center by running trays, washing tables and doing laundry on Saturdays.
According to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Randy Randall was born on May 12, 2024, weighs 186 pounds and stands at 5-foot-10.
After being incarcerated at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center while filming the movie OpenRandall is now housed at the Ouachita River Correctional Unit and has been there since February 12, 2024.
Randall’s criminal convictions date back to August 2000, when he was convicted of aggravated robbery and theft by receiving stolen goods. Outside of Arkansas, Randall had additional convictions between 2012 and 2015 in other states, including drug-related possession charges.
His most recent conviction came in January 2024 for second-degree domestic assault, for which he was sentenced to 120 months.
While in prison, Randall completed two anger management programs in 2004 and 2005 and two technical offending programs in 2008. The purpose of the latter program (through the Arkansas Department of Corrections) is to “to teach, promote and encourage positive cognitive and behavioral change leading to a crime-free lifestyle.”
Three previous risk assessments, including one on the Ouachita River Correction Unit New Commitment on April 16, 2024, gave him a “Medium” rating.
His custody classification is “C2,” which keeps inmates in minimum security.
His parole and transfer eligibility date is currently set at June 23, 2025.
