You can’t miss Town Hall Hotel, just moments from Bethnal Green station, its huge, pearly-white facade is a beacon of grandeur amongst east London’s lovable grit. Built of Portland Stone dating back to the Jurassic period, the Edwardian exterior sets the tone for the event spaces inside which lend an elegant air to any event.
Town Hall Hotel is well versed in hosting all manner of events – from weddings to murder mysteries – so there’s plenty of spaces which can be customised for your occasion and the dedicated team are on hand to help from start to finish.
The largest space is the Bethnal Hall with a capacity of 120 guests standing and between 60 to 100 seated. Built in the 1930s, it has an innovative design in which its wooden panelled walls can be manipulated throughout the evening to move back and make more space for dancing. The overall aesthetic focuses on rich, natural materials with a minimalist look, making it a relatively blank canvas option for your own decoration.
The De Montfort Suite brings together the best of old and new with period details, a Steinway and Sons grand piano and a multi-level space with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. This large, open space is perfect for a big party and can host 100 people standing or sit between 20 to 60 for a lavish dinner.
For an intimate celebration, the Council Chamber is a unique setting that your guests won’t see coming. Bring together 20 of your nearest and dearest on a central table surrounded by the historic features of a former council meeting room with wooden walls, council bench and chandeliers overhead. Another spot for a smaller gathering is the sultry Silk Weaver bar, which can be taken over exclusively for 30 people.
