This Iconic South London Venue Is Reopening As A Nightclub Again In 2026 – The Team Behind Night Tales And Netil360 Are Reviving Peckham Palais

One of South London’s most iconic nightlife venues, is making an eagerly awaited comeback in February 2026 after nearly 15 years of inactivity.

Once a bustling hotspot on Peckham High Streetthis legendary club is being reborn thanks to the visionary team at The Night Group, who also run popular East London venues such as Night Tales, NT’s Loft, and Netil360. This revival signals a fresh chapter for Peckham’s vibrant nightlife scene, promising to blend rich history with cutting-edge club culture.

The revival of Peckham Palais

Peckham Palais is steeped in history. Originally opened as the Jones and Higgins department store in 1867, the building is a stunning example of neo-renaissance architecture. In 1980, part of the building was demolished to accommodate the Aylesham Shopping Centrewhile the remaining half transformed into the much-loved Peckham Palais nightclub.

ith a capacity of 1,500, the Palais was renowned for hosting electrifying house and techno nights, alongside nostalgic events dedicated to old-school garage, R&B, and ’90s anthems, attracting locals and visitors alike until it closed its doors in 2011.

Over the years, the space remained silent, with several proposals to revive it as a nightlife destination falling through. Now, The Night Group has succeeded in transforming the venue into a state-of-the-art clubbing venue that respects its heritage while delivering a next-level experience.

Peckham’s ongoing regeneration and saving London’s nightlife

The new Palais will occupy the basement with a more intimate 500-capacity dance floor, outfitted with a meticulously crafted Funktion-One five-way sound system. This system has been engineered to produce “infra bass” that you can feel throughout your body, creating an immersive audio experience that goes beyond just hearing music.

Above the club, The Ballroom will offer a 250-capacity cocktail bar and events space, perfect for pre-club drinks, private events, or more relaxed socialising.

Jamie Rule, co-founder of Palais, explained that the year-long development of the sound system was intended to create a venue where sound moves through people, adding a physical and sensory dimension to the music. This emphasis on sound quality is sure to attract both local talent and international DJs, making Palais a key venue for electronic and club music in London once again.

The club’s reopening is a sign of Peckham’s ongoing regeneration and its growing importance on the London nightlife map. Music lovers and nightlife enthusiasts can look forward to a venue that honours the past while embracing the future of clubbing and nightlife innovation.
