Six performing at West End LIVE 2019

Warm up your vocal chords and get your jazz hands at the ready, folks. The line-up for this year’s West End Live has just been announced – and it’s, quite simply, *chef’s kiss*. But considering that it’s the 20th edition of the event (which just so happens to be the biggest free musical theatre festival on the entire continent) – did we really expect anything less?

What is West End Live?

So, in case you didn’t already know, West End Live is the all-singing, all-dancing, and – most importantly – completely free musical theatre festival that lands slap-bang in the middle of the city each year. An open-air stage will be set up in Trafalgar Square for the weekend, and thousands of theatre-loving Londoners will flock to it to feast their eyes (and their ears) on the very best of the West End.

With live performances from the cast members of over 60 showsit truly is the most outrageously stagey but utterly wonderful way to spend a weekend in the capital city. West End Royalty usually host the event, but we’re yet to find out who will be guiding the audience through the whirlwind of song and dance this year. Previous hosts have included the legendary likes of Mazz Murray, Bradley Jaden, Cedric Neal and Zizi srallen.

The West End Live 2025 line-up

Whilst the specific schedule has not yet been announced, the line-up of performances has just been revealed. As always, the show-stopping line-up is jam packed with firm favourites to new musicals, and everything in between.

Visitors can expect to see top-notch performances from the classic crowd-pleasers like Hamilton, Six the Musical, Les Misérables, Wicked and The Book of Mormonbut newer shows such as The Devil Wears Prada, Titanique, and Clueless will also be gracing the stage. There will also be a performance from the cast of the highly-anticipated Hercules. So, whether you’re a musical-extraordinaire or a newbie on the show-tune scene; there’s sure to be something you’ll love at West End Live.

You don’t need a ticket for the event. Just turn up on the day (or both days – we wouldn’t blame you) and prepare to sing your heart out and dance your socks off. BSL interpreters will also be on hand to ensure that everybody is able to enjoy the performances. And, I don’t know if I mentioned it yet – but it’s completely free to attend.

West End Live returns to Trafalgar Square on June 21 (11am-5pm) and June 22 (12pm-5pm). You can find out more about the event, plan your visit, and check out the full performance schedule when it’s released here.
