If you’ve ever visited one of Big Mamma’s utterly gorgeous Italian restaurants, and spent the majority of your meal wondering whether it would be feasible to surreptitiously shove the plate you’re eating off (and pretty much everything else on the table) into your bag, you might want to listen up. You can save yourself from a run-in with the law and a run-in with the pasta sauce that will inevitably end up all over your belongings, and head to Big Mamma’s charity flea market instead.

Known for elaborately delicious dishes, and deliciously elaborate decor, Big Mamma is the brains behind some of the capital’s best loved restaurants, Circolo Popolare, Jacuzzi, Ave Mario, Carlotta, and Gloria. Each of those tasty trattorias has had a new year clear out, and will be selling their pre-loved treasures at a flea market next month.

For one morning only, Londoners can have a good old rummage through their no-longer-needed bits and bobs, and snap up some truly unique gems. Each Big Mamma restaurant is filled to the brim with Italian charmand so we can only assume that the flea market (or should I say mercatino?) will be no different. Market-goers can expect to find hand-painted crockery, vintage Italian furniture, candles, glassware, and so much more.

The event is being held on the terrace of Fitzrovia‘s jaw-droppingly good-looking Circolo Popolare. It’s free to visit, and you’ll also be treated to a complimentary hot drink whilst you’re there. And the very best part? All proceeds will be going towards London’s oldest Italian social club, Italian house. It’s a win for everybody, really.

Big Mamma is holding their charity flea market on Sunday, February 16 from 9.30am – 12pm (or until everything gets snapped up). Tickets are free but you’ll need to reserve a spot in advance here.
