The Wonka director informs about a possible sequel to Wonka 2
Talking to ComicBook, Wonka director Paul King addressed the possibility of making Wonka 2 for team Warner Bros.
Please note that the sequel is “certainly (they) are thinking of something” The king boasted Wonka producer David Heyman on his philosophy behind filmmaking.
He even touched on Heyman’s saying that King said “not feeling the pressure to just make a movie because it can be made:”
“It’s definitely something we’re thinking about. One of the things I love most about my producer, David Heyman, is that he’s made so many great movies that he doesn’t feel the pressure to just make a movie because it can be He has this great saying, which calms me down tremendously, where he goes, “We’ll think, we’ll see what we can come up with, and then we’ll see if we want to make it,” and that’s incredibly liberating, rather than someone like, “You’re making a movie that’s coming out in September,” and you’re like, “I don’t even have an idea.”
Meanwhile Wonka 2 isn’t guaranteed, King believes it could happen by staying calm and coming up with a perfect and complete story. “50 years between the Gene Wilder film and (their film):”
“Let’s just take it for a walk and keep calm, and there was about 50 years between the Gene Wilder movie and our movie. We can wait a while, and if we don’t come up with a story, this is a movie that has a beginning, a middle, and an end that works on its own, and if we’re coming up with something that we think could be exciting — certainly the Oompa Loompas feel like there could be multiple Oompa Loompas. Of course, there are some ideas floating around, but we don’t have a story yet, so we’ll see what happens.”
