The Maccabees are all set and ready to go for their comeback plans, which are announced and ready for the rest of the year ahead. They have just revealed, however, that their very first show in eight years will be an intimate show for charity in London.

They will take to the Tufnell Park Dome for their first show since the trio of gigs at Alexandra Palace in 2017, and are raising money for the MS Society.

Speaking on the show via Instagram, the band said: “Dear Friends. We are going to play one very small charity show for (MS Society) at (The Dome) on the road to (All Points East). We played for MS Society before the Alexandra Palace shows all those years ago, so it felt like the only right way to start this little run.

“This is a really important charity to us and – we hope you all agree – any entry is going to an extremely worthwhile place. Good luck, all the information below, and we really look forward to seeing you there.”

How to get tickets to see the Maccabees at London’s Tufnell Park Dome show next month

Due to the demand the show will receive, a ballot has been set up in the interest of fairness. You can access it here, with each entry costing £5. You can enter the ballots more than once, but if successful, ballot entrants are entitled to two tickets each. Anyone successful in the ballot will then be charged £20 (+ booking fee) for the number of tickets requested.

Where else are the Maccabees playing this year?

This show is, in fact, coming right ahead of their upcoming performance at Glastonbury Festival, where they are due to headline the Park stage – so we can think of the Tufnell Park show as something of a warm-up for this. Later in the summer, they’ll be headlining All Points East festival to play to a lot more Londoners on a bill that also includes Bombay Bicycle Club and Dry Cleaning. They will also play shows in Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester in August.
