In July, the Francis Hotel in Bath, part of the Sutton Hotel Collection, will undergo a £13m refurbishment.
As part of the renovation, all 98 bedrooms and suites will be renovated, and a thermal spa with three treatment rooms will be added.
In addition, there are plans for a new Townhouse Brasserie, which will emphasize seasonal British food as part of the renovation.
At the same time, the lobby is being redesigned so that it becomes a cozy area that offers a comfortable space for both the public and the residents to relax.
The Francis Hotel debuted as Accor’s second MGallery property in the UK in 2012, before becoming part of the Sutton Hotel Collection when it launches in 2022.
The property has historical significance as one of the Georgian buildings built in Bath. It also served as the residence of the famous 18th century architect John Wood Sr.
William Gibbs, director of hotels at Sutton Hotel Collection, said: “This change will not only create an even more attractive hotel experience for domestic guests, but will also increase the interest of international leisure and business visitors to Bath.”
Shaun Bowles, general manager of the Francis Hotel’s Bath cluster, said: “Our vision is to create something incredibly special in the heart of Bath, offering guests truly personalized and curated experiences.”
The Sutton Hotel Collection includes other notable properties such as the Queens Hotel Cheltenham and the Castle Hotel Windsor.
