Tables set up in a room for the British Podcast awards

Podcast-lovers, audio-aficionados, and – well – anybody who likes to have their ears filled with the finest entertainment; you’re going to want to hear this. The British Podcast Awards 2025 are officially within earshot, and it’s safe to say that here at Secret London, we simply cannot wait.

Whether you’re captivated by comedy, hooked on high-brow, or tempted by a bit of true crime; this year’s awards ceremony is here to showcase, celebrate, and shine a light on the very best in British podcasting.

The ceremony will be taking place right here in London. And just as we do with all of the most exciting things happening in the capital; Secret London is getting involved. That’s right, folks – Secret Media Network is an official media partner of the British Podcast Awards this year, meaning that you’ll find us there, microphone in hand, reporting directly from the red pink carpet.

If that in itself isn’t exciting enough for you; we’ll also have our very own category. We’ll be in charge of the Rising Star categorywhich focuses on spotlighting up-and-coming talent. Our very own rising star will be in attendance, too. Secret London’s Senior Video Producer and podcaster, Jess Dawsonwill be on the judging panel. And she’ll be lending her keen eye for uncovering hidden gems and under-the-radar talent.

The British Podcast Awards 2025

Podcasts have firmly found their way into the nation’s ears and hearts in recent years, brightening up even the most chaotic of commutes and wearisome of workouts. And we Brits are clearly very passionate about the podcasts we listen to, as the British Podcast Awards are expecting to receive over 400,000 public votes this year.

Alongside the influx of public votes, this year’s event will also see a record-breaking amount of award categories. Some of which (like video innovation, education, and lifestyle) will be appearing at the awards for the very first time. The British Podcast Awards 2025 has also had a rather impressive venue upgrade. Taking place at London’s legendary Indigo at The O2the British Podcast Awards are officially the biggest celebration of UK podcasting ever. And it’s now been revealed which of the UK’s plethora of podcasts have earned themselves a comfy and coveted spot on the shortlist.

From firm favourites like Happy Mum Happy Baby and Help I Sexted My Boss to breakout indie shows and lesser-known gems; this year’s shortlist is filled to the brim with the most notable and need-to-know names in British podcasting. Last year’s winners included RedHanded, A Positive Life, and George the Poet. But this year? Well, it’s all to play for. You can have a browse of the show-stopping shortlist here.

Cast your vote for the Listeners’ Choice Award here!

Three more shortlists are still yet to be unveiled. The highly-anticipated nominees for the Spotlight Award, the Specialist Award, and – of course – the Listeners’ Choice Award will all be announced in August. So keep your eyes (and your ears) peeled for those.

The podcasting proceedings will be led by none other than Maisie Adam. The award-winning comedian, podcaster, and all-round icon has been confirmed as the host for the British Podcast Awards 2025and said on the event: “The British Podcast Awards are like the Oscars – if the Oscars were way funnier, had fewer dress codes, and no one slapped the host (hopefully!)”.

Joining the event this year as the Chair of Judges is Emma Barnett. Emma is a journalist, broadcaster, and author, and certainly knows a thing or two about audio entertainment. Emma said on the awards: “I’m delighted to champion this brilliant, bold medium as Chair of Judges for the British Podcast Awards 2025and to celebrate the voices shaping the Great British Podcasting scene.”

Attending this year’s British Podcast Awards

The British Podcast Awards has well-and-truly levelled up this year, taking to the iconic Indigo at The O2. It’s set to be packed with podcasting royalty. I mean, as Maisie Adam said, it’s basically the Oscars of the audio world. Beyond the glitz and glamour we all know to expect from an award ceremony, the British Podcast Awards are renowned for throwing an unforgettable bash. Attendees can expect live recordings, pop-up experiences, iconic red carpet moments, and – of course – a post-show party to remember.

You can grab your ticket for the biggest night in British podcasting here!
