One of the most annoying things when it comes to cooking is not having the right pan or ovenproof dish for the job. Well, hundreds of Amazon shoppers have given the thumbs up to a 13-piece cookware set from Tower that not only has plenty of different pans for different jobs but has detachable handles so they can be used in the oven.

The Tower Freedom 13-Piece Cookware Set has a ceramic coating on all the pans, and they are designed to be stackable so they’re also space saving. The detachable handles will also help save space if you have particularly small cupboards.

The pans are made from graphite and aluminium, and the set is cut from £149.99 to £75.99 on Amazon with shoppers praising the pans’ versatility and how they save space. One person wrote: “Very good quality pans, the non stick surface is excellent and the pans are very easy to clean. There is a good selection of pan sizes and lids and the pans are easy to store. I highly recommend.”

Another said: “Everything packs away lovely and small. Perfect if you’re tight for space in a caravan or camper.”

While a third said: “I’ve been using solidly for over a year and they are incredibly versatile. I can go from hob to oven to air fryer to fridge and in reverse or combination. It’s a shame they don’t come with a big lid for the wok style and larger pans. They also fit nicely into my round halogen oven and great for making roasts etc… not made any cakes in them or bread, but I think these would be okay for those too. Caution: You mustn’t use metal utensils as they will scratch.”

The set has had 646 ratings and while 63% gave it five stars, not all have been positive. One unhappy shopper wrote: “Major flaws in the coating of these pans. In the set I received, the wok had a big lump of coating (I didn’t intend on using the wok so didn’t bother initially) and then after 2 uses, the larger pan coating started wearing off. This is a major waste of money and I’m pretty sure the coating wearing off like this (and leaking into food) is a serious health hazard. I certainly will avoid this brand at all costs going forward.”

If you want to protect your purchase you can buy these handy liners that sit between the pans when they are stacked, to stop scratches. They’re £13.59 for 12 pan protectors in varying sizes, and have an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 after 650 reviews on Amazon.

Alternatively John Lewis is selling a Tefal saucepan and frying pan set, which is reduced from £169 to £126.75. It includes two non-stick frying pans and three different sized saucepans. It’s got nearly flawless reviews. After 52 ratings it’s riding high on 4.8 out of 5 stars overall. One shopper said: “I am so impressed with the quality of this set. Very sturdy, beautiful designed, great quality materials. Definitely worth its price. Highly recommended.”

The lowest rating it has is three stars. One person who gave it that said: “Frying pans are great but not overly keen on the saucepans. We’ve got a gas hob and the pans heat really quick causing the outside food to bubble and burn before the middle is hot. I know you want pans to heat up quickly but we much prefer saucepans with the black coating on the inside (don’t know the technical term sorry!). We’ve now scorch marks on the inside of the pans already which are hard to get off.”
