It’s undeniable that the entire month of January is dedicated to self-care for many Londoners, whether you’re giving up the booze or have just joined the gym for a new lease on life. If you’re still searching for your new wellness venture, then look no further. The uber-cool city saunas and plunge pools are returning to Kings Cross thanks to Slomo and their Mind Your Brain event, which encourages people to prioritise their brain health with mind-boosting activities.

Slomo is a wellness brand from the beloved DJ and wellness practitioner Rob da Bank, and Mind Your Brain is a curated programme and pop-up space that includes hot yoga, sauna master sessions, and chill-out slots in the plunge pools – there are even playlists made by Rob da Bank himself to keep things grooving in a calming and enticing way.

Due to its ever-increasing popularity, the extended six-week initiative will run from Friday, January 17 until Sunday, March 2promising to keep brains and minds happy and healthy for longer. Returning to Lewis Cubbit SquareSlomo will feature two wood-fired saunas, three cold plunge pools, and an ice tank that seats six people, all centred around a toasty fire, roaring throughout the pop-up to keep you warm between plunges.

It promises a soothing retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life, in the pursuit of cleansing and relaxing the body through this ancient Scandinavian practice. Health benefits of these temperature-topping activities include reducing inflammation in the brain, improving blood flow, and the enhancement of cell function. There’s even an exfoliating salt scrub and shower to conclude your experience, guaranteed to help you leave feeling stress-free and truly relaxed.

Last year, the sauna sessions sold out in only 45 hours. So this year, the organisers a running a tiered ticket system to ensure everyone has a fair shot of experiencing this charming wellness retreat in the heart of the city. Prices are £9 for off-peak sessions and £12 for peak and programmed sessions. There will even be special events and classes throughout its run – including Sunday Sauna Sessions – so keep an eye out and book as soon as you can.

Rob and Josie da Bank, co-founders of Slomosaid: “We can’t wait to bring our Slomo pop-up back to King’s Cross for the second year.”

“There is no better and healthier way to kick off the year than with a sauna and cold plunge, so by extending bookings for six weeks, we’ll be giving more people the chance to enjoy this fantastic event.”
