Scottish boutique hotel group Manorview has proposed plans for a major revamp of the Bothwell Bridge hotel, which will include the addition of a new spa.
The group, which also owns Boclair House in Bearsden and Redhurst in Giffnock, bought the South Lanarkshire hotel in 2022.
There are plans to completely refurbish the interior of Bothwell Bridge, creating 70 bedrooms, including a Honeymoon Suite and a guest suite that sleeps six.
The existing restaurant will be replaced by a 175-seat brasserie-style dining area, and guests can enjoy coffee, cakes and pastries in a casual lounge.
Manorview plans to add a large wedding and party suite, a separate party space at the rear of the property, and private dining areas.
An orange building will be built in the front part of the property, which will serve as an extension to the restaurant and party facilities.
Spa plans include a rooftop hydrotherapy pool and plunge pool, seven treatment rooms, experience showers, sauna, recreation lounge and on-site gym facilities.
Manorview stated that it is applying the insights gained from its sister hotels to the project.
David Tracey, Managing Director of Manorview, said: “We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Bothwell Bridge to life in a new way. We understand that the hospitality market has changed recently, and relaxation and well-being are on the agenda for local and national guests. So we knew we wanted to include a spa and gym in our plans.
“Our aim at Bothwell Bridge is to offer something not just for hotel guests, but a place where locals can relax, unwind and enjoy memorable moments with family and friends.”
The construction and opening of the hotel is expected to create 150–200 jobs.
Although no timetable has been set for the opening, Manorview hopes to start work in 2025 pending plans approval.
