Knitwear, coats, sofas and other fabrics all have one thing in common: they tend to bobble after a few uses. To get rid of it, you can simply shave the fabric with a razor – but it can be quite time consuming.

A great solution however is the Philips Fabric Shaver. Not only has it been praised by thousands and thousands of shoppers, it’s also currently on offer at £9.99 on Amazon – this is cheaper than getting it from Philips (£14.59).

The small appliance has three sizes of mesh holes to tackle all sizes of pills, with blade rotation of up to 8800 rounds per minute for effective removal. It also features a large blade surface so you can cover a big area at once.

The product works with AA batteries – you can get a pack of 12 (Duracell) on Amazon for £8. The fabric shaver has a 4.5 rating from over 117,390 reviews.

A very pleased shopper wrote: “I had a fleece that I used to love wearing all the time but had become so bobbly that it looked truly awful and I considered throwing it out. My fiancé gifted me this wee device and 2 hours later I had “shaved” the entire fleece and I’m not kidding, it looked good as new – I’ve now used this on cardigans, joggers, and hoodies, each time making the item look 100% new”.

Another added: “I love my H&M hoodies they’re so comfy for a good price, only bad thing is they bobble like nothing before. This thing just turned my four-year-old hoody to brand new before the song I was listening to could finish.”

A third commented: “I have revived so many jumpers with this, I was about to throw several out because they were too ratty to wear outside but not anymore, highly recommend this. I used to spend so long and made such a mess using razors to shave the bobbles off jumpers, using this makes it a quick and easy job.”

There has been little criticism of the product, but some customers some customers found that it was not as effective as they had hoped: “Not bad little gadget but doesn’t really work as well as I’d like. Better on some materials than others, worth a try.”
