A new outdoor market is coming to a ‘cool’ South London neighborhood in Zone 1. The market will be located in one of London’s fastest changing neighborhoods and newly built parks.
The market in Elephant Park in Elephant and Castle will feature street food and drink, as well as crafts. The new shopping site will feature over 20 retailers based outside The Tree House, in Elephant Park, Southwark borough. It will run every weekend on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm.
As part of their launch, Elephant Park Market will be giving away 100 free lunches on a first-come, first-served basis at launch this Saturday (October 12).
Philip Lowery, founder and director of Real Food Markets, said: “The Real Food Markets team are very proud to bring a brand new market to Elephant Park. Elephant and Castle is so culturally rich and the curation of our market traders reflects this .We’ve handpicked an incredible selection of independent vendors that we know the local community and visitors will love””
The market will be based in the award-winning Elephant Park, which has recently undergone a major redevelopment. The introduction of the new market is just the latest in a series of new changes that have taken place in the Elephant and Castle area in recent years.
The new Elephant Park development has a range of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops. Shoppers heading to the new market can expect to see options like PastaLab, Churros Garcia and A Glass of Joy.
Emerging London bakery EMMY will also be serving homemade cakes, brownies and other seasonal goods. Rock Oysters will be serving oysters alongside a selection of Bloody Marys, cloudy natty pet-nats and stouts from East London’s 40ft brewery.
