Here are Secret Londonone thing that’s not kept particularly under wraps is how darn fond we are of the capital city. We spend the vast majority of our days waxing lyric about all of the wonderful things you can get up to inside these 32 boroughs. But look, I’m not going to lie to you. We also get pretty excited at the prospect of a cheap-and-cheerful new way to hotfoot it straight out Londonwhen we get the chance. And the news I come bearing today is exactly that.

Sustainable transport-tycoon, Flixbushas just announced the arrival of a new route that will transport Londoners straight to the seaside for less than a fiver. As part of a rather hefty expansion (their biggest yet, in fact), FlixBus will be introducing a route that will run between London and Brighton, just in time for the sunny season.

As the fastest-growing travel brand in the UKyou can already traverse the length and breadth of the country on board a FlixBus. Their rather impressive offering spans over 80 cities and towns across England, Scotland, and Wales, giving Brits that chance to explore the country and beyond in a sustainable way (that doesn’t require them to fork out the cost of a small mortgage).

The new London to Brighton route will offer prices as low as £4.49and will stop at both Gatwick Terminals on route, too. If you’ve not traveled on one of these big, green buses before, you’re missing out on the likes of free Wi-Fi, charging ports, luggage included in the price, and – speaking from first-hand experience – a genuinely enjoyable coach experience. Yes, such a thing really does exist, after all.

The new route will be up and running on June 13perfectly in time for us city-folk to spend the summer paddling in the sea, scoffing fish and chips, and spending the money we saved on our travel on the 2p arcade machines. Count me in.

Andreas SchorlingSenior Managing Director of FlixBus UKsaid: “Brighton is such a vibrant, inclusive city, especially during the summer, and we can’t wait to offer passengers the chance to visit for the first time on our network.

“The people of Brighton will now have a fantastic service to central London, Cambridge and Gatwick. Known for its dedication to sustainability, it’s a perfect match for FlixBus.”
