M&S has released a lovely frilly blouse that would look great over the summer period. The shirt is versatile and can be paired with lots of outfits.
For casual looks pair with jeans or a skirt, alternatively opt for trousers or slacks for an effortless work outfit. Made in a broderie style, the Pure Cotton Broderie Frill Detail Shirt has a high neck and short sleeves – it also comes with a slip vest to wear underneath.
Priced at £39.50, the easy breezy blouse comes in green and off-white colours. The product description says: “This pure cotton shirt is a pretty choice for warmer days. It’s cut in a regular fit, with a neat collared neckline and a concealed button-down front. A broderie design brings elevated texture to the piece, while frill detailing on the short sleeves adds a feminine flourish.”

The blouse is proving to be popular. M&S has included a small notification on the online page, as the blouse is trending. It has a 4.9 customer rating and 39 reviews. One shopper wrote: “As soon as l saw this blouse l liked it, it stood out from the rest and is a stunning on-trend and top quality, the vest that came with it was a bit thin but we all have a spare white vest-very happy.”
Another commented: “Lovely blouse fits really well, easy to wear for work or less formal with jeans.” And a third shopper said: “I bought this in green, it’s absolutely gorgeous and looks perfect on. Very nice looking blouse.”

However, one shopper said that some threads came loose. They explained: “Purchased online. Certainly not value for money I expected a better finish. Lots of loose threads required trimming. True to size.”
Another shopper said they didn’t like the sleeves, explaining: “It is of good quality but far too fussy for me. The cotton camisole left parts of the outer top see-through and bra straps exposed.
“Tried to make it work but then the sleeves did not sit properly one was floppy other sticking up. Too expensive and settled on another less expensive and far more practical and of even better quality. Also arrived screwed up in the smallest bag – no hanger or plastic!” The shirt is available in sizes 6-22. The model sporting the off-white colourway pairs it with these Cotton Rich Pleat Front Wide Leg Trousers (£35).
Elsewhere, this Ivory Crinkle Textured Frill Detail Top from Roman is similar and is priced at £32. It also has short sleeves and a frilly neckline for some added pizzazz – available in white and blue. The model styles it with a pair of striking sage straight-leg jeans. They’re on sale now, down to £35 from £42.
Over on River Island, you can pick up this sleeveless Cream Embroidered Frill Blouse for £42. It features a v-neckline and a beige embroidered down the front and centre.
