Dishom is preparing to open his first restaurant in Leeds.
The documents reveal that Town Center Securities (TCS), a real estate investment company in the United Kingdom, submitted a design application to the Leeds City Council in March on behalf of the Indian restaurant group.
TCS announced that it intended to develop its 7,300 square meters at 68-78 Vicar Lane restaurant, and the building series has been “sympathetic to adapt to Dishoom’s distinct design style and storytelling approach”.
Vicar Lane is a 0.65-hectare mixed leisure development that dates back to the 20th century, located near visible plants such as John Lewis, Ivy and Hugo Boss.
During the expansion, the Leeds restaurant’s plans will come to Dishoom, which increased nearly 300 new employees last year, with its sales for the first time over £ 100 million.
Last month, the group – inspired by the old Bombay Irani cafes – stated that they were close to safeguarding the New York site in their first US restaurant.
Charles Newman, Director of TCS: Estates, said: “We are excited about the opportunity to bring Dishoom Leeds and be able to provide such an iconic space in the heart of the city. Dishom is a brand that has redefined dining experiences in the United Kingdom, and their decision to come to Leeds – and especially for this key and cultural confidence.”
TCS added that more information about launch will be provided while waiting for planning approval.
Dishoom maintains 10 restaurants under its main brand, including the 235 cover location at the Battersea power plant, which opened in 2023, and allowed room bars in Brighton, Cambridge and Oxford.
