Kids can travel free on this National Express coach

Planning a holiday in the UK? Forget about paying for extortionate train travel, try hopping on a coach instead for your next staycation. Not only is it often cheaper anyway, but until the end of September, National Express is offering families free coach travel for kids.

From now until September 302025, up to three children aged 15 and under can travel for free, as long as they’re accompanied by a fare-paying adult. There are hundreds of destinations across the UK available with National Express—taking you a far as Cornwall, Dublin and Glasgow.

How do I book this ‘kids travel free’ offer?

Just plan your journey as normal on the National Express website, and when at checkout, just use the code: KIDSFREE. Remember, this offer only applies to up to 3 kids, up to 15 years old, going free with 1 adult.

Why should families travel with National Express?

For a quick seaside escape, there are direct coaches to the likes of Brighton, Margate, and even Bournemouth for purely beach vibes this summer. But if you’d like a longer holiday, somewhere further afield, you could go dolphin spotting in Pembrokeshireenjoy a Cotswolds escape in Cirencesteror even a city break in Manchester.

If you’re concerned about the actual journey, then National Express has gone to lengths to improve the smoothness of the coach trip. There are free child booster seatsonboard free Wi-Fi and USB power sockets, and generous luggage space—with prams and pushchairs also carried for free. You can also book a preferred seat for an extra £2 per person.
