In Little people, big world in season 25 there was tension between Zach and Matt. There was so much bad blood. Zach let Matt come over so he could see the grandkids, but the dynamic between Matt and Zach was a little twisted. Zach clearly still resented his father for Roloff Farms. Zach believes his father promised to sell the farm to him – instead, Matt put it on the market.
With this one decisive act, Matt put himself first. He claimed he never vowed to sell the farm to any of his children.

Zach Roloff wants peace
Matt Roloff does not shy away from conflict
Zach is a Taurus who values home, hearth, and tradition—he’s a true family man who probably dreamed of working on a farm while raising a family, just like his father did. Taurus natives hate change – they love their calming routines. So when Matt destroyed Zach’s dreams, it really stung.
Zach had to think outside the box and find another path. He definitely resents the fact that his father wouldn’t hand over the farm to him. Maybe he was hoping his father would just give it to him as a sort of early inheritance.
Many parents leave their possessions to their children. Parents who do this tend to be kind and generous. They give their children security. Matt may have made a mistake in not giving his children Roloff Farms. Parents should think carefully about their legacy (and their children’s future) before making such big decisions.
Zach probably thinks Matt is a selfish dad who makes bad decisions to please his former “other woman” (and now fiancee) Caryn Chandler. Matt said on screen that now is his time to think for himself. He is building a great house for him and Caryn. No one is trying to argue that he doesn’t deserve it. Matt, who lives with a type of dwarfism that brings a lot of pain (he’s had so many surgeries), really deserves an accessible home.
He is building a ranch-style home without stairs. Every “little person” should have this kind of accessibility – it’s so important.
Matti has worked hard over the years. He was so busy at Roloff Farms. However, he can be a difficult man. He was often harsh with Amy Roloff when they were married, and Amy is a good woman. Matt may have fallen for her a long time ago – when it came to Amy, he seemed to be on a permanent troubleshooting mission. Nothing he did was ever good enough. She gets along better with Chris Marek, who is a gentler person. Now the Roloff kids have problems with Matt and Caryn. The consequences of Matt and Amy’s divorce have been serious.
Zach probably opposes the divorce to his father as well – it’s just human nature. There is a lot of rage under the surface. Matt probably feels judged and abused. The family is broken, and Zach and Tori’s decision to leave the series is a direct result of all this turmoil. Zach wants peace – he has said he hates talking about family members behind their backs during confessions. He just wants to live in peace and do what’s best for his family of five.
Is Zach Roloff a more caring father?
Matt Roloff thinks his kids should be independent
Zach is quite gentle with his children, although he could use more patience with his youngest daughter, Lilah Roloff, who has a speech delay. He’s not outdoorsy and adventurous – he cries and whines a lot. This clearly gets on his father’s nerves. Zach looks more like his father when he is rude and impatient with Lilah. That’s something he should work on. Mostly, though, he’s a great dad. He always tries to be in touch with his children. Her son Jackson is the sweetest kid – sweet, protective, cute as a button and so bright.
The fact that Jackson is a total cutie speaks volumes for Zach’s skills as a father and mother to the newly petite Tori. These parents are doing a good job. Their son thrives in their care. Other children are likely to have the same positive experience. Their home life contains many peaceful and happy moments – perhaps more than the now grown Roloff children had. Maybe Zach doesn’t want his kids to grow up watching TV like he did. If he’s pulling out of the show for this reason, he’s a very wise man. It’s a selfless choice that will likely benefit her children.
Of course, Zach’s issues with Matt are ever-present, pushing his son away from him. Zach isn’t sure they can repair the tear. Roloff Farms hasn’t been sold yet, but the damage has already been done. In recognition, Matt said:
“When Zach and I finally sat down, we were really in different camps about what kind of deal could go forward. “Zach came in really hot. He didn’t come to negotiate. He came to demand.”
Zach was angry and replied:
“You don’t dictate the terms here. You’ve been dictating too much for too long.”
Matt listed part of the farm for sale in May 2022 for a whopping $4 million. By the end of December 2023, he had listed the property twice – that winter he decided to take it off the market. So his ability to cash in on the famous Roloff Pumpkin Farm didn’t really work out. Matt may have priced himself out of the market. A byproduct of his failed attempt to sell his iconic property was a bitter feud with his own child, who seems to think his father is a tyrant.
Things are bad in the Roloff family and the fate of the famous series hangs in the balance. It’s hard to say if the show will survive the departure of Zach, Tori and their cute little kids. They were kind of the heart and soul of the show. Without them, the show is a bunch of adults who have really been through the wringer. Zach and Tori still have the ideals of their youth – they are trying to build a wonderful life as a family. Their absence Little people, big world might spoil the show. I hope Matt and Zach mend their relationship.
