An Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school in Lambeth is helping to prepare its pupils for a life of success with its unique approach to development.
La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls’ School offers more than just high standards of academic learning and is keen to see its students thrive beyond the books.
La Retraite students provide an education for girls from years 7 to 11, then a co-educational sixth form for years 12 and 13, and embody its ethos: “formidable talent, determined minds, courageous spirit.”
If you want your child to grow up to have these important qualities, La Retraite is hosting an informative open day event on Saturday 21 September 2024, where prospective students and their families can find out more.
Running from 09:30 to 12:00, it is the perfect opportunity to visit the school environment, talk to staff and experience the inclusive feeling of being part of La Retraite.
Academic and personal success
With 140 years of experience in Catholic education, La Retraite embodies strong, inclusive Catholic values and welcomes students from all walks of life, regardless of their faith.
Within this diverse culture, every student is expected to meet the school’s high standards which are in place to help them reach their full potential.
In fact, this year students have set new standards for the school with their A-level, C-tech, T-level and GCSE results – testament to the hard work and resilience of the students, and the support they receive from dedicated staff.
Ofsted noted seeing this important progress pupils are making at the school, rating it ‘Outstanding’ across all areas last year, continuing La Retraite’s run of three top grades.
Inspectors said: “La Retraite delivers a strong personal development program that explores British values, equal opportunities, online safety and relationships in a meaningful way. This prepares students for life in modern Britain.”
“This school aims for every student to reach their full potential. It does so, not only by having high expectations of students, but by supporting their individual ambitions and talents.”
These talents are enhanced through the school’s broad enrichment programs that complement the quality and strength of its academic offerings and engaging curriculum.
A wealth of experiences outside the classroom is offered to every student, including rewarding trips, music lessons and events, and extra-curricular clubs in an impressively wide range of subjects.
You can learn more about these opportunities at the upcoming open event on September 21st.
