A woman is challenging anyone to find a better bargain after she hit the jackpot with her Too Good To Go bag.
Too Good To Go, an app that offers discounted food that would otherwise go to waste, has become popular in recent years. The catch is that users don’t know which items they’ll get because it depends on the store’s inventory and which items are nearing their sell-by date.
TikTok user @ellarosezohra recently flaunted her huge haul of Gail’s, claiming it was so substantial her “arm ached” from wearing it. Ella shelled out £5 for the bag of assorted pastries, ending up with items that would have set her back £37.80 if bought fresh on the day.
Speaking on TikTok, she continued: “I was literally speechless in Gail’s store because of how much stuff they put in this bag. Like I said, I choose a Gail’s Too Good To Go because I’m on the hunt to get a sourdough loaf and obviously Gail’s is known for their breads.
“I’ve always really struggled to get my hands on a Gail’s Too Good To Go bag because they disappear (so quickly), but I somehow managed to get my hands on one.”
Ella’s haul included a personal choice—a chocolate and almond croissant that “looks and feels incredible”—along with two pots of blueberry yogurt, slices of carrot cake, lemon polenta cake, strawberry and ricotta cake, a blueberry and custard brioche, a cinnamon bun, and a loaf of sourdough bread . These treats usually cost between £4.20 and £5 each, but she bought the ticket for just £5.
“I can’t believe how many pastries I got in this bag,” she exclaimed. Ella mentioned that the best shipping time to secure your Gail’s bag is roughly between 5pm and 6pm the day before.
