Jesus and his disciples have returned to our screens in The Chosen Season 4 – but how long will the new episodes be available to watch in theaters?
Created by Dallas Jenkins, The Chosen had humble beginnings. It started with a 2017 pilot following a shepherd on the night of the Messiah’s birth – and this caught the eye of Angel Studios, which was interested in expanding the idea of a series chronicling Jesus’ life and his teachings from the perspective of the men, women, and children who came into his orbit.
It was made possible by $11 million raised in crowdfunding, with the show becoming the largest audience-funded project in TV history. While it’s flown under the pop culture radar, each season has attracted extraordinary viewership, watched by hundreds of millions of people across the world in search of high-quality faith-based entertainment.
Season 4 of The Chosen has adapted a slightly different release strategy, with new episodes arriving in batches in cinemas – so, here’s how long you have to check them out.
How long is The Chosen Season 4 in theaters?
The Chosen Season 4 will be available in cinemas until March 10, 2024.
The season has been split into three blocks across the month of February into March, so you can find out when you can watch the episodes below:
- Episodes 1-3: February 1-14
- Episodes 4-6: February 15-28
- Episodes 7-8: February 29-March 10
Screenings will be taking place in major theater chains across the US and Canada, as well as the UK, Australia, and other countries internationally.
In a statement, Jenkins said: “Last year, we dipped our toes in the water by releasing a few episodes in theatres. The response was so strong, and Season 4 is so big, that we knew we and Fathom had to give viewers the theatrical experience for all eight episodes.”
Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events, also said: “We’re excited to make history with The Chosen. This collaboration has been such an amazing experience! Watching the fans come out in such large numbers to watch the story of Jesus on the big screen has been both informative and heartwarming.
