Scotland’s first national chef, Gary Maclean, promotes locally acquired and produced food and healthy, sustainable eating and eating in Scotland. He also serves as a lecturer at Glasgow College and won the BBC MasterChef: The Professionals in 2016.

Gary Maclean participates in training through Baxerstore’s Academy and Master Courses. He also has a deep understanding of Scottish culture and passion for local ingredients he also helps the company strengthen partnerships with regional producers and farmers to obtain the best local ingredients in Scotland.

Hannah Catley, a baker in Bristol and the owner of Lockdown Loaves and Catley’s, previously worked as a pastry chef in Chiltern Firhous in London. He launched locking plates during the Covid-19 pandemia, supplying bakery products in his hometown.

Catley plays a key role in improving BaxTerstore’s commitment by sharing his expertise in developing group members’ skills. He provides practical training through the BaxTerstorey Chef Academy application and supports the development of pastry skills in the customer’s kitchens.

Andrew Aston, Head of BaxTerstore’s Chef partnerships, well -being and communities, said: “Our Scottish dining, John Fleming, and I am happy to bring Gary to business. We know that Gary’s fantastic knowledge, creativity and energy is a huge resource in Scotland. Scotland. Innovation.

“Similarly, bringing a chef partner who focused on pastries was always part of our longer-term strategy, and when we met Hannah, we knew she was perfect for our business. Hannah is a passionate young businesswoman with a deep love for what she is doing, and a strong commitment to education.

Gary Maclean said, “I’m excited to collaborate with Baxerstore, focusing on mentoring, practical education, and best local products. I look forward to working with an incredible team to inspire the next generation of chefs and celebrate the great Scottish food.”

Hannah Catley said, “I’m so excited about working with Baxtestore and being able to participate in their communities by training our groups and creating a more approachable way to implement pastry skills in our kitchens.”

Gary Maclean and Hannah Catley join the Baxerstorey’s current Chef Partners lineup, which includes Kirk Haworth, Ruth Hansom, Josh Eggleton, Jenny Chandler and Thuy Diem Pham. Last year, the Chef partners took almost 3,000 hours of cooking alongside the BaxTerstorey team members, shared their expertise and host experiences for both teams and customers.
