Scotland’s first national chef, Gary Maclean, promotes locally acquired and produced food and healthy, sustainable eating and eating in Scotland. He also serves as a lecturer at Glasgow College and won the BBC MasterChef: The Professionals in 2016.
Gary Maclean participates in training through Baxerstore’s Academy and Master Courses. He also has a deep understanding of Scottish culture and passion for local ingredients he also helps the company strengthen partnerships with regional producers and farmers to obtain the best local ingredients in Scotland.
Hannah Catley, a baker in Bristol and the owner of Lockdown Loaves and Catley’s, previously worked as a pastry chef in Chiltern Firhous in London. He launched locking plates during the Covid-19 pandemia, supplying bakery products in his hometown.
Catley plays a key role in improving BaxTerstore’s commitment by sharing his expertise in developing group members’ skills. He provides practical training through the BaxTerstorey Chef Academy application and supports the development of pastry skills in the customer’s kitchens.

Gary Maclean and Hannah Catley join the Baxerstorey’s current Chef Partners lineup, which includes Kirk Haworth, Ruth Hansom, Josh Eggleton, Jenny Chandler and Thuy Diem Pham. Last year, the Chef partners took almost 3,000 hours of cooking alongside the BaxTerstorey team members, shared their expertise and host experiences for both teams and customers.
