Few things provide an endorphin rush quite like when festival season meets London. And when GALA festival marked the very first returning outdoor, post-Covid restrictions festival in the city in 2021, it was a celebration to cherish for those who attended.
Since then, GALA has continued to grow in reputation, becoming one of the first events circled in London’s summer music calendar, and they’ve just announced a wave of acts for their 2024 edition. Give those dusty festival trainers a brush from last season, because they’ll be coming out for another few days when GALA takes over Peckham Rye Park on May 24-26.
Who is playing GALA 2024?
GALA ’24 is already a stacked lineup full of genre-crossing names in the world of dance music. Starting off with the headline acts, we’ll be treated to the deck-spinning set from garage legend DJ EZ, who takes the reigns for the Friday (May 24) closing slot. Saturday night (May 25) will be closed by Amsterdam-based DJ Job Jobse, before the festival is ended by French techno artist Folamour.
Attendees can enjoy sets from the likes of Joy Orbison, Chaos In The CBD, Palms Trax, Girls Don’t Sync, Peach, Interplanetary Criminal, Novelist, SHERELLE B2B KODE9, and many more on an eclectic summer lineup, which you can see in full above and here.
GALA festival is back for its ninth year in 2024, having cemented itself as one of the key dates in south London’s dance music scene–a cursory glance at this year’s lineup will tell you that alone. This year, they welcome a new set of stage hosts for takeovers on their iconic Pleasure Dome Stage. Look out for radio station NTS on duty for the Friday, queer party legends Adonis taking over on Saturday, before another inevitably excellent job from Horse Meat Disco on the reigns on the final day.
