The Restaurant Openings You Need To Try

London is famous for its dining scene that it seems is always evolving. With a multitude of new openings and cuisines right on your doorstep it can be difficult to keep up. Absolutely London lists the new restaurant and bar openings that everyone is talking about, so you can decide where to make your next reservation. Enjoy!

    Rita’s Soho

A new and highly anticipated addition to Soho’s restaurant scene has recently opened on Lexington Street. A sister restaurant to East London’s much loved Rita’s, the new venue will feature a menu inspired by founders Missy and Gabriel’s travels across the Americas, and the food and culture they stumbled upon along the way. Think all out ‘comfort food’; Jalapeño popper gildas, grilled sugar pit pork collar and a steak dinner for two served with all the trimmings. Our tip? Leave room for dessert – we recommend the key lime pie.

    The Barbary Next Door

Layo and Zoe Paskin, founders of award winning dining locations The Palomar and The Barbary, will soon be opening the doors to The Barbary Next Door – the little sister venue to The Barbary that will sit adjacent to the original site in the bustling Neal’s Yard Courtyard. The all day venue will be serving up a menu that takes its inspiration from Moorish Spain and North African cooking, whilst a wine list curated by sommelier Honey Spencer will also be available.

    Junsei

You may have noticed that skewered food is having a bit of a moment recently – and it seems the trend is here to stay. Recently opened Japanese restaurant Junsei is embracing all things skewered, with menu highlights to include Yakitori (meaning grilled bird), as well as Kushiyaki vegetable skewers, elevated donabe (rice) bowls and seasonal Japanese hot plates. Delicious.

    Figaro’s Bar

This November Figaro’s, a new and immersive Mediterranean bar will be opening its doors on Shaftesbury Avenue. With the lack of Summer holiday opportunities this year, Londoners are craving sunny getaways – and Figaro’s is here to help. Inspired by a small local bar in the heart of fishing port Cassis, guests will arrive with only one question on their minds: Am I in London or the South of France? Hidden away on the 1st floor of the Trocadero, the interior will further the immersive experience, with Mediterranean inspired interiors and wisteria hanging from floor to ceiling. The extensive drinks list will focus on specially selected wines alongside an impressive cocktail offering, whilst a range of bar snacks, including duck rillette with toast and onion marmalade and portobello mushroom croquettes, will also be available.

    Whitcomb’s At The Londoner

Whitcomb’s is set to be the new all-day dining location located inside The Londoner hotel. With a French inspired menu that has been expertly curated by Executive Head Chef Shailesh Deshmukh, guests can enjoy a breakfast offering of Omelette au crabe royal, with Burford Brown eggs, Alaskan king crab and crème fraîche, or those with a sweet tooth can opt for the Grand Marnier French toast with clementine confit and black pepper toffee butter. Throughout the rest of the day an array of French dishes will be available, including fresh pastas, topped off with a stellar dessert menu. Guests are invited to enjoy the newly opened restaurant with a backdrop of the decadent and luxurious hotel.

    Manteca

East Londoners will rejoice at the newest addition to the Shoreditch food scene, Manteca. The well-known name will be opening its first permanent restaurant after a number of previous residencies around London. The destination will be somewhere guests can enjoy a quick plate for lunch, or a lengthy meal whilst catching up with friends. The menu will focus on nose to tail cooking, hand rolled pastas and fire cooked cuts to share, with a drinks offering of aperitivi and amaro cocktails available. The interiors will mimic the menu; think raw leather, canvas upholstery and lots of butter-yellow tones that reflect the yolk-rich pastas that the restaurant will soon become synonymous for.
