A runner got the shock of her life when out for a jog she over looked and Ed Sheeran asks her for a song request.
The runner, Nikki Atkins, was going for a leisurely jog on what looks like the Regent’s Canal when she looked over and there was megastar Ed Sheeran in a canal boat. Ed waves, says hello, and asks if Nikki has any requests. She quickly races in the brain and asks for the Tenerife Sea which Ed breaks into almost immediately.
She told BBC London: “In my head the time it took me to ask for a song was a very long time, I’m so shocked it went so quickly when I saw his video because I literally ran out onto the path, kind of waving at him and then he just asked me for a song request.
“But in my head I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have to think and it doesn’t have to be really rubbish or basic stuff.’ Not that he has any trash songs.” Ed ends the serenade, waves to Nikki, she waves back and then continues her run, a moment she will no doubt remember forever.
People on Ed’s Instagram have been blown away by how quickly Nikki came up with a song with one person writing: “I just couldn’t! If Ed asked me to request a song my brain wouldn’t even be able to name a single song even though I can all of them by heart In hindsight I would say a little bump but on the spot I just couldn’t!!!”
Another person said: “I would LEGITally go blank and not be able to remember any Ed Sheeran songs.”
