Now, singer Ciara is joining that list of superstars helping the finalists as they navigate the next round of the competition American Idol. The news was revealed during the latest episode when the Top 8 performed at the Judges’ singing competition, where Katy won again. The Top 7 will each perform two songs on the April 5 episode, one of which is selected from Adele’s catalog, while the other song is part of a new theme called Songs That Make Me Wanna Dance. This latter theme sees Ciara as a guest mentor.

Ciara’s mentor news wasn’t the only exciting announcement American Idol season 22 The Judges’ Singing Contest episode. Ryan Seacrest also revealed that when the annual Disney Night returns in a couple of weeks on May 12, The Top 5 doesn’t just feature two songs from the extensive Disney catalog; they also travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. A guest mentor has yet to be announced, but Disney Night mentors include Sofia Carson, Derek Hough, John Stamos, Rebel Wilson and Idina Menzel.
