Well, folks, one of the most important days on the calendar is fast approaching. That’s right, this Sunday (July 20) is none other than International Ice Cream Day! And to celebrate (in conjunction with its 15th anniversary), one of London’s most wickedly inventive ice cream parlours is bringing back its most celebrated and bizarre flavours from the past. Throughout the summer, Chin Chin is bringing back old faves with ingredients ranging from strawberry to goat’s cheese, and even tobacco.

Now, Chin Chin already has a pretty unique base product, since their ice cream is made using liquid nitrogen. But they’re also famous for their no-holds-barred approach to flavours. And yet, even the strangest-sounding of their flavours are downright delicious. This is the place, after all, that managed to make a scrumptious potato peel soft serve.

Among the weirdest flavours that are returning from Chin Chin’s past are Coffee & Tobacco, Green Grass, Hazelnut & Kikos (aka fried corn), and Pumpkin Seed Milk. But it’s not all wild flavours and wacky creations. Some of the returning flavours are downright indulgent. The less polarising flavours include the likes of Apple Butter Pie, Scones Cream Tea, and Blueberry Buttermilk Pancake.

Altogether, Chin Chin is bringing back 15 flavours from its past – one for each year they’ve been serving up their liquid nitrogen ice creams. These are:

  • Apple Butter Pie
  • Avocado & Toast
  • Basil Chip
  • Beetroot Goat’s Cheese Crumble
  • Blueberry Buttermilk Pancake
  • Cigar Smoked Caramel
  • Coffee & Tobacco
  • Green Grass
  • Grilled Sweetcorn
  • Hazelnut & Kikos (Fried Corn)
  • Mozzarella Cherry Swirl
  • Pumpkin Seed Milk
  • Scones Cream Tea
  • Sea Buckthorn
  • Strawberry & Hay

The returning flavours will be available all summer long at the Chin Chin Dessert Club, Soho, from July 20 onwards.

Chin Chin brunch

But Chin Chin isn’t stopping at bringing back their cult flavours. They’re also launching a new series of menu items to celebrate their birthday. They’re debuting some seriously indulgent brunch dishes for Londoners to chow down on.

The brunch-inspired dessert series will kick off with Banana Bread Toast & Honey Butter Ice Cream. Big enough for two to share, the dish features a hazelnut praline centre and is served on a bed of rich fudge sauce, and of course, the brand’s famous ice cream.

The brunch dessert series will be available from the ice cream parlour’s Soho site on Sundays from open (1pm) until sold out. The brunch dishes are baked in limited quantities, so get there early to ensure you don’t miss out!

📍 Chin Chin Dessert Club, Soho, 54 Greek Street, W1D 3DS. The nearest station is Tottenham Court Road.
