Amazon has just announced a rare discount on the top-rated MacBook Air with M2 processor, as part of its Prime Day event which runs until 17 July. The deal, available to Prime account holders, sees the MacBook Air priced at just £849, a saving of £150 off its retail price.

Buying direct from Apple will set you back £999 and £949 on John Lewis. The MacBook Air features a stunning 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display and an impressive M2 chip that offers plenty of power and an 18-hour battery life. It also includes a 1080p FaceTime camera, 256GB of storage and a keyboard with a Touch ID fingerprint scanner for easy unlocking and secure online payments.

Other extras include MagSafe charging, a headphone port, a market-leading trackpad and decent speakers. The discount is available across the entire range including the Silver, Space Grey, Starlight and new Midnight colour options. It has a 4.7 out of 981 reviews.

In addition to the MacBook deal, Amazon has also reduced the price of AirPods to a new low as part of Prime Day, now available for just £95. These discounts won’t be around for long, with Prime Day ending on 17 July. You’ll also need a Prime account to get the money off which usually costs £8.99 per month.

Amazon are not the only ones with discounts on their laptops – and could be a good idea should you not want to pay Apple prices. The Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop with an Intel Core i5-1235U processor and 12MB of cache is on sale for £399, down from £459. It currently has a 4.3 out of 17,291 reviews.

Or the ACER Swift 14″ laptop – also hosting the Intel Core i5 processor and with 8MB of RAM is down to £499.97 out of £599. It is very well reviewed at 4.6 out of 1038 reviews.
