Amazon shoppers are loving the new Kindle Scribe, which essentially eliminates the need for pen and paper. The Kindle device costs £329.99 at Amazon, Currys, and John Lewis.

The Kindle Scribe includes a digital notebook and pen. You can both read books like on a normal Kindle and write down your thoughts and sketch in the notebook.

You can also convert your notes into text, as well as sharing them with your contacts. The tablet imitates paper for a natural feel, with a glare-free front-lit display.

The Kindle Scribe also offers the longest battery life in the Kindle family. It claims to offer months of reading and weeks of writing on a single charge.

You can also get free books for three months as Kindle Unlimited is offering a three-month free trial. The subscription gives you access to millions of books, thousands of audiobooks and selected magazine subscriptions, and after the three months are up you’ll be paying £9.49 per month.

The Kindle Scribe has 4.8 stars at John Lewis and 4.3 stars at Currys. On Amazon, it holds a 4.3-star rating from 889 reviews.

One person said: “My Kindle Scribe was a very much needed luxury purchase for me and has literally changed my life. My two magnetic whiteboards are totally covered with notes, letters, reminders to attend hospital appointments that I could not see the wood for the trees.

“I would write things down and stick it on one of the two whiteboards only to find I had to remove half the stuff to find what I was looking for. Now I have my beautiful Kindle Scribe with Premium pen, I only have one place to look. I have created various notebooks for different categories and BINGO….. I can go straight to the notebook I need and find exactly the reminder I am looking for.

“No more missed hospital or other appointments. I am even keeping a better check on my finances too. Have to say, my Kindle Scribe 64GB has to be the best purchase I have made in years. I can highly recommend it. I can erase mistakes and redo in a flash, once I am done with a particular page it is easily deleted.”

Others praised the “fantastic battery life” and “comfortable” reading experience. Of the negative comments, one person said “Unfortunately it is well behind it’s competitors. Not good value for money.”

Alternatively, you can try the reMarkable 2, which replaces notebooks and printouts and costs £379. On reMarkable’s website, it’s got 4.6 stars from 5,771 reviews.

You can buy the Kindle Scribe from Amazon, Currys, and John Lewis. You can get Kindle Unlimited from Amazon and the reMarkable 2 from reMarkable.
