The cult wellness buy returns to stores nationwide on March 12, and if previous launches are anything to go by, it won’t stay on shelves for long.

Last time it landed, it sold out rapidly as shoppers rushed to join the celebrity-backed cold-water trend. With the price unchanged – and demand still high – another retail frenzy is expected.

At £24.99, Aldi’s Ice Bath undercuts similar models by a huge margin.

Comparable products like the Polar Recovery Ice Bath retail for £79.99, meaning shoppers save £55 (69%) by opting for Aldi’s Specialbuy.

In a market where wellness gadgets often carry premium price tags, this is one of the cheapest entry points into the cold-plunge craze.

And with household budgets stretched, price is likely to drive even stronger demand this time around.

Commuters were left stunned as one brave soul took an ice bath while waiting for the bus – when the heatwave strikes, sometimes you’ve got to get creative! The commuter was testing Aldi’s Specialbuy Inflatable Ice Bath which goes on sale next week. (Image: Joe Pepler/PinPep)

The cold-water craze isn’t cooling off

Cold water immersion has exploded from niche fitness ritual to mainstream wellness obsession.

High-profile names including Harry Styles, David Beckham and Kendall Jenner have all publicly backed cold plunges, crediting benefits such as:

  • Faster muscle recovery
  • Increased mental clarity
  • Improved resilience
  • The post-plunge “buzz”

Social media continues to fuel demand, with ice bath content drawing huge engagement online.

The Ice Bath is made from durable Tritech® puncture-resistant material, includes a secure cover with rope fastener, and is designed for easy solo use.

It inflates in around 20 minutes – making it a quick garden or patio setup as temperatures start to rise.

But the biggest factor? Scarcity.

As with all Aldi Specialbuys, once stock is gone, it’s gone. There are no restocks, no rain checks and no guarantees.

  • Product: Ice Bath
  • Price: £24.99
  • In stores: 12 March
  • Availability: While stocks last

Given last year’s rapid sell-out and the 69% saving versus rivals, shoppers who want one may need to act early on launch day.
