Can you hear that sound? The peal of bells ringing in the distance? Why, that must be the sound of Christmas swiftly winging its way to London. Christmas lights are starting to string themselves up and festive markets are announcing their opening dates. And our anticipation for the festive season is reaching an all-time high with the announcement of a stunning new festive village that’s set to take over one of London’s most gorgeous areas. The Royal Hospital Chelsea is set to undergo a Christmassy makeover as it transforms into the Chelsea Winter Village. And this is one festive experience you won’t want to miss!

From November 26 to December 28the Chelsea Winter Village will delight visitors with its jolly Christmas experience. The festive hideaway boasts an impressive 1.5km light trail, the Chelsea Winter Illuminations. These interactive displays react to your presence and invite you to “touch, play and activate the trail”. Psst…. It’s also the only light trail in Central London – perfect for those who can’t quite travel out too far.

But that’s not all they’ve got to entice visitors. In fact, the light trail is just one part of the impressive winter village offerings. They’ve got everything from a Christmas market to mulled wine, live music, and more.

At the Chelsea Winter Village

While the Chelsea Winter Illuminations are the main draw of the Chelsea Winter Village, there’s much more for visitors to enjoy. And access to it all requires just one ticket! There’s no faffing about trying to figure out which ticket package to get – just grab one and you’re sorted.

Inside, you’ll find

  • the Chelsea Winter Illuminations light trail (obviously)
  • Curling Club
  • a Christmas market with gifts, street food, mulled wine, and festive bars
  • festive workshops
  • live performances from the Chelsea pensioners
  • fairground rides

All in all, it’s a truly cosy and heart-warming way to enjoy the Christmas season, right in the heart of the city. Plus, thanks to smaller crowds and the incredible history of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, it’s sure to bring a touch a charm, and not chaos, to your celebrations.

And they’re promising even more to enchant visitors: “we’ve got a few surprises still to reveal in the Village”. Head here to sign up and grab a 10% discount on your ticket.

🎟️Be sure to grab a ticket here so you don’t miss out.
🕰️ The Chelsea Winter Illuminations and the Chelsea Winter Village will run from November 26 – December 28.
📍 Find it at Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, SW3 4SR. The nearest stations are Sloane Square and Battersea Power Station.
