Brighton Rocks annual art house film festival returns in June with six days of cinematic fun and screenings at two city center venues. Founded by lecturer, academic and director James Rollins, the festival may only be seven years old, but it has big ambitions: to give as much support as possible to emerging filmmakers and become the main forum for UK indie and underground cinema.
So what can you expect? The films submitted are divided into themed sessions including showcase, documentary and drama, comedy made in Brighton, music, experimental film and music, thriller and horror and a student film showcase.
The festival ends brilliantly with the award ceremony – you can watch the whole program here.
Screenings are held at Manchester Street Arts Club (formerly Latest) and Duke’s Komedia.
Forget pub crawls, it’s cinema time!
Tuesday 25 – Sunday 30 June; at different times and places; from £10
